Luke 23: 44-47

Luke 23: 44-47

And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened , and the veil of the temple was torn in the middle. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he breathed his last. Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was the Son of God.

Crucified on Friday, the world mourned the passing of a prophet, teacher, rabbi, and leader. The disciples went into hiding, fearing for their lives, wondering if this man was truly who he said he was. For them the hour was thick with uncertainty, their enemies had won, their hero dead, their future in jeopardy, no peace to be found. But Sunday was on the way.
